What It Does

Unmasking blocked callers with Privacy Guard eliminates one of the nasty tricks (i.e., staying anonymous!) that telemarketers, spammers, debt collectors, and scammers use to try to bother you. Privacy Guard examines the incoming caller ID and requires callers where the caller ID is blocked or unknown to enter their number. Yet, Privacy Guard also lets legitimate callers get through, such as those calling from a foreign country.

How Privacy Guard Works

Whenever a caller with a "Blocked" or "Unknown" caller ID contacts you, let it go to YouMail and Privacy Guard will require the caller to enter in their phone number to identify themselves to be able to leave you a voicemail. Telemarketers won't want to identify their phone number and robocallers can't type in their phone number so you will only have messages from legitimate callers!

Why Privacy Guard is Important

Blocked or unknown calls are usually bad news. And no one likes wasting time with telemarketers and spammers. So why waste time and energy listening to their voicemails? Prevent clogging up your inbox with Privacy Guard – and automatically force blocked callers to unblock their number (or enter it) to get through.

Who Benefits from Privacy Guard?

EVERYONE who's busy and gets pestered with unknown callers such as telemarketers or spammers will love Privacy Guard.

You Need Convenience

Screen calls and selectively answer those that matter to you. With Privacy Guard, you're given some reference to decide how you want to respond to the call. You can answer it, decline it or send it directly to voicemail.

You Need Privacy

You'll always know who's calling because the Privacy Guard feature REQUIRES them to provide their number before leaving a message. You'll quickly identify callers so you know whether to respond or not.

It's super easy! Once you've upgraded to YouMail Plus or YouMail Professional, simply log into your account on the YouMail website and go to the 'Greetings' tab. Select 'Blocked ID Greeting' from the menu. Then click 'Use YouMail Privacy Guard' under each section. That's it!
