Why Smart Greeting is not being played to my callers?
There are several reasons why your callers may not hear the Smart Greeting:
- Make sure that if the caller is a contact that they have their name entered correctly in your contacts list. The first name should be in the "First Name" box and it should not contain title such as Mrs., Mr., or Dr. There should also be no punctuation such as quotes and dashes.
- Make sure your caller does not have assigned personal greeting. If there is a personal greeting assigned to the caller, the caller will hear the personal greeting and not the Smart Greeting.
- If you intend to have all your callers to hear the Smart Greeting, as opposed to just your contacts, make sure that the phone number is not blocked, or the call is not originating from a business phone as there will be no first name associated with these type of calls.
To add a name to our Smart Greeting database, just send an email to support@youmail.com or fill out our Support Request form.
Note: To add new names to the smart greeting, YouMail pays the "YouMail voice" to record each name "just right" - which has gotten really expensive. As a result, we charge $5.00/name. You can click here to place your order. Send an email to support@youmail.com as soon as you placed your order with the name(s) and pronunciation(s). We submit the requests for name recordings at the end of each month.
