How do I transfer my GotVoice account to YouMail?
To migrate your GotVoice account to YouMail:
- Enter URL http://host1.gotvoice.com/common/youmail.php (TBD)
- Enter your GotVoice login information: email address and password.
- Click on the [Login to My Account] button.
- Click on [Transfer My Account] button.
- This will start migrating your GotVoice account to YouMail.
- Once your account in GotVoice is transferred to YouMail successfully, it will display
the YouMail Account Transfer Complete page.
Take note of your YouMail PIN.

This will take few minutes if you have a lot of contacts and messages in your GotVoice inbox. |
To setup call forwarding to YouMail:
- Click on the [Setup Call Forwarding] button on the YouMail Account Transfer Complete! page.
- Select your phone manufacturer from the phone images provided.
- Select your phone model then click on [Continue].
If you don't find your exact phone manufacturer and phone model, click on the 'generic instructions' link at the right pane. Follow the instructions shown. - Follow the instructions on how to setup call forwarding to YouMail.
You must follow the instructions carefully in able to successfully forward your voicemail messages to YouMail.
How you would want to be alerted of new voicemail?
- By Phone: A text alert will be sent to your cell phone each time you receive a voicemail message, a missed call, and a ditched call. The text alert can also contain the date the message is received, message length, caller's carrier, and the caller's city and state based on your settings in the My Alerts page.
- By Email: A notification will be sent to your email when you get a voicemail message and missed call. The email settings can also be found on the My Alerts page.
- Click on the [Looks Good - Save These Settings] button once you set your basic alert settings.

To check your voicemail from your phone:
- By pressing and holding the [1] key on my phone.
You must assign you phone's [1] key to (714) 204-3114.
- By calling YouMail by dialing (714) 204-3114 from any phone.
- By visual voicemail from web-capable smart phone.
- Click on the [Set My Preference] button to go to the next step.

To change your YouMail PIN:
- You can keep the PIN assigned when you transferred your account to YouMail.
- You can enter a new PIN (must be 4 - 12 digits) if you wish to change the PIN assigned by YouMail.
- Click on [Save My YouMail PIN] once done. You can change your PIN at anytime on the My Information page.
- If you have multiple phones, only the first phone you added to GotVoice is transferred to YouMail.
- Only your contacts are transferred to YouMail and not your groups.
